Notice to Customers:
Due to the ongoing instability in the Middle East, all transportation expenses have risen dramatically. While we are mitigating many increases by maintaining most product prices, we must now place a fuel surcharge on sales orders starting May 11th, 2026.
As of Monday, May 11th, the fuel surcharge will be $6.00 CAD per sales order. This flat fee will allow transparency to this cost, rather than have extra charges passed through in product costs or other delivery expenses. For simplicity of communication and administration, a flat fee applied to invoices means fewer price changes and less cost change management for all.
The surcharge is a flat fee per sales order and does not vary based on order size or value. If an order is partially backordered, the fuel surcharge will only be applied once; customers will not be charged again when the remaining items ship. Now more than ever, consolidating orders will help reduce the impact of rising fuel costs and improve overall efficiency.
Unfortunately, there is no horizon for when the conditions that created global price instability will end or return to normal, and prices may continue to change. As such we have developed a formula for implementing the surcharge: for every $5.00 USD of cost over the $70.00 USD price per barrel of Brent Crude Oil Index, $1.00 CAD of fuel surcharge will be added to each sales order. If the average price of crude oil changes in the future, the surcharge will be adjusted up or down, based on a 30-day lagging average price. We will be charging a $6.00 CAD surcharge for the month of May, based on April’s 30-day lagging average price. We will review oil prices again at the end of May.
